Myriad Lives
Privacy Policy
Last updated
This Privacy Policy explains what information Myriad Lives (listed in app stores as "Myriad Lives: Cultivation Idle", the "Game") collects, how it is used, who it is shared with and the choices you have. The Game is developed and published by Rigelion, an independent game developer based in Baku, Azerbaijan ("we", "us", "our"). If anything here is unclear, write to us at support@rigelion.com.
The short version
- You don't need an account to play, and we never ask for your real name, email address or phone number. The name you give your character stays in your save.
- Before the Game goes online for the first time, it asks you what you want to share. Gameplay analytics and the Game's own error reports are sent only if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings. Unity, the Game's engine, collects anonymous crash reports from every player to keep the Game stable.
- Ads are optional rewarded videos that you choose to watch. They are personalized only if you agree.
- Payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details.
- You can delete your cloud save, play data and player ID from inside the Game: Settings → Delete my data.
Information we collect
Anonymous player ID
When the Game first goes online, it signs in anonymously with Unity Authentication and gets a random player ID. The ID isn't linked to your name, email or store account. We use it to keep your cloud save, label the play data and error reports you agree to share, connect any feedback you send to your game, and carry out deletion requests. You can see and copy your player ID in Settings.
If you turn cloud save off and decline to share play data, the Game doesn't sign in and makes no network requests for these services at all. Unity's crash reports and the ads described below work separately.
Your progress (cloud save)
Cloud save is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. While it is on, a copy of your save files (your progress, the settings that belong to each save file and a record of what you have bought) is stored with Unity Cloud Save under your anonymous player ID, so a lost save can be restored. Your save files are also stored locally on your device.
Play data and error reports (only with your consent)
If you turn on Share play data and error reports, the Game sends Unity Analytics events about how the game is played, for example starting a new life, reaching a realm, attempting a breakthrough, discovering a path, finishing the tutorial, watching a rewarded ad or making a purchase. The events come with session information and technical information:
- identifiers: your player ID, Unity's installation ID for the Game, and a device identifier (the identifier for vendor on iOS, a device-derived ID on Android);
- your device model, operating system, game version and language, and your device's battery level and sound volume;
- your approximate location (country), derived from your IP address.
Analytics may be collected from only a sample of players. If the Game hits an error, it sends an error report through Unity Diagnostics, with details of the error, technical information about your device and your player ID.
We use this information to find bugs, balance the game and decide what to improve. If you leave this switch off, no play data or error reports from the Game are sent. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Share play data and error reports. When you withdraw, data that hasn't been sent yet is discarded.
Crash reports from Unity (all players)
Unity, the engine the Game is built with, collects anonymous reports when the Game crashes or stops responding, with technical information about your device and Unity's installation ID. This happens for every player, whatever you choose in the Game, because it can't be turned off for one player. We use these reports only to keep the Game stable.
Game configuration
While cloud save is on or you share play data, the Game downloads its configuration from Unity Remote Config (for example balance adjustments, feature switches and the minimum supported version). The request includes your player ID, Unity's installation ID and the game version. As with any internet request, Unity's servers also receive your IP address and may use it to estimate your country.
Your country
Some features depend on where you are. For example, the in-game shop is unavailable in some countries for legal reasons. To apply these rules, the Game determines your country from your app store account's country, from the configuration service's estimate, or from your device's region setting. The result is used only to apply regional rules. It is stored on your device and in your save file, so it is also part of your cloud save and of any feedback you send with your save attached.
Feedback you send
If you use Send feedback, we receive:
- your message, your player ID and the game version;
- your device model and operating system, and technical details such as its graphics chip, memory, screen resolution and system language;
- Unity's installation ID for the Game;
- the most recent lines of the Game's technical log;
- a summary of your current game, such as your life, age, realm, path, faction, location and hours played. If you leave Attach my save switched on, we also receive your save file. Feedback is delivered through Unity User Reporting. If you email us instead, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Advertising
The Game offers optional rewarded video ads in exchange for in-game bonuses. Ads are delivered through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service that chooses an ad from its partner ad networks. The partner networks are Unity Ads and Google AdMob, and we will update this list if that changes.
When an ad is requested or shown, the ad SDKs may collect your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking, or the Android advertising ID), your IP address, device and operating system information, information about the Game, and how you interact with ads. They use this to deliver and measure ads, cap how often you see them and prevent fraud.
- Ads are never shown before you have answered the Game's privacy prompt.
- If you turn on Personalized ads, ads may be personalized. On iOS, the Game asks for your permission to track (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) just before the first ad, and not before.
- If you leave Personalized ads off, the ad networks are told that you haven't consented and that your information must not be sold or shared, you get non-personalized ads, and you are never asked about tracking.
- Ads are never required: you choose when to watch one, and the Remove Ads purchase replaces the videos with a single tap.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We receive a confirmation of what you bought (such as the product, transaction identifier and receipt) so that we can unlock it and restore it later. We never receive your payment card details, billing address or the name on your store account.
Purchases inside the Game go through Unity In-App Purchasing. For each purchase it sends Unity a record with:
- the product, price and transaction identifier;
- technical information about your device and the Game;
- Unity's installation ID and your player ID;
- on iOS, the identifier for vendor.
Unity uses these records to run and improve its purchasing service. They are sent whether or not you share play data, and Delete my data doesn't remove them. Email us if you want them deleted.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the Game schedules local reminders on your device, for example when your offline time is about to hit its limit or your character is nearing the end of their lifespan. These are scheduled on your device and no push token is sent to us. You can switch them off in Settings or in your device's settings.
Information we don't collect
We don't collect your name, email address (unless you email us), phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or any information from other apps.
How we use information
- To run the Game: keeping and restoring your cloud save, unlocking and restoring purchases, applying configuration and regional rules.
- To improve the Game: analysing play data and error reports, if you have agreed to share them, and Unity's crash reports.
- To show rewarded ads: delivering ads, giving you the reward and preventing ad fraud.
- To help you: reading and answering feedback and support requests.
- To keep things safe and legal: preventing abuse and fraud, and meeting our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles ourselves.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: your player ID, cloud save, purchases, game configuration and feedback you choose to send are needed to provide the Game and the features you use.
- Consent: play data, the Game's own error reports, personalized ads and (on iOS) tracking. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings without affecting processing that happened before.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the Game secure, preventing fraud, applying regional rules, Unity's crash reports, which keep the Game stable, the purchase records described under Purchases, and showing non-personalized ads that keep the Game free. You can object to this processing by contacting us.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Game, and only for the purposes described above:
| Provider | What it does | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Unity Technologies | Authentication, Cloud Save, Analytics, Diagnostics, Remote Config, User Reporting, In-App Purchasing, LevelPlay ad mediation and Unity Ads | Unity Privacy Policy |
| AdMob advertising (and Google Play for Android purchases) | Google Privacy Policy | |
| Apple | App Store purchases and the App Tracking Transparency prompt (iOS) | Apple Privacy Policy |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the Game, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep information
- Cloud saves and your player ID are kept until you delete them with Delete my data, or ask us to delete them.
- Play data is kept by Unity under its retention periods, and is deleted when you use Delete my data.
- Error reports, Unity's crash reports and purchase records are kept by Unity under its retention periods. Delete my data doesn't remove them; email us to ask for their deletion.
- Feedback is kept for as long as we need it to deal with your report, and then deleted.
- Data on your device (save files, settings and your country) stays there until you delete it:
- Resetting your progress erases your save files.
- Delete my data also erases your save files.
- Your settings, purchases and country are kept by both, and are removed only when you uninstall the Game.
Your choices and rights
In the Game. In Settings you can:
- turn cloud save on or off;
- turn play data and error reports on or off;
- turn personalized ads on or off;
- Delete my data: this turns off cloud save, sharing and personalized ads, deletes your cloud saves and your anonymous player, and asks Unity to delete your analytics data. Save files on your device are erased too and a new game begins, while your settings and purchases stay. If you're offline, the deletion finishes the next time the Game connects.
On your device. On iOS you can allow or deny tracking under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@rigelion.com and include your player ID from Settings so we can find your data. Because the Game is anonymous, we may not be able to match a request to any data without it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents. We don't sell personal information for money. Personalized ads may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; this only happens if you turn on Personalized ads, and you can opt out at any time by switching it off in Settings.
Children
The Game is intended for players 16 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
Information sent between the Game and our service providers is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect in the first place.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Game changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we'll let you know in the Game. If a change affects what you've agreed to share, the Game will ask you again.
